چکیده
With the launches of HY-2B, HY-2C and HY-2D, National Satellite Ocean Application Service (NSOAS) successfully established first batch HY-2 constellation on 19 May 2021, dedicated to detecting marine dynamic environment. While validation calibration series satellites have been well studied, using both in situ cross-track measurements, further evaluation is required mapping capability mesoscale eddies. In this study, we conducted two groups pseudo-observations obtained by ocean models output at positions times satellite along ground tracks. The altimetry combinations are Jason-3+Sentinel-3A/B configuration (reference group) Jason-3+Sentinel-3A/B+HY-2B/C/D (evaluation group). Three regions different latitudes were selected as study areas. Then, gridded tracks into synthetic SSH products for each group. Finally, attributes eddies extracted from analyzed evaluate satellites. Our results suggest that more similar model data compared reference groups, with a maximum difference reduced 23%. terms eddy identification, can alleviate incorrect estimation add details spatial distribution radius amplitude. Additionally, displayed better performance detection, enhancement 14% 16% recognition rate accuracy.

Mesoscale eddies transport deep-sea sediments
Mesoscale eddies, which contribute to long-distance water mass transport and biogeochemical budget in the upper ocean, have recently been taken into assessment of the deep-sea hydrodynamic variability. However, how such eddies influence sediment movement in the deepwater environment has not been explored. Here for the first time we observed deep-sea sediment transport processes driven by mesosc...
متن کاملOceanic mass transport by mesoscale eddies.
Oceanic transports of heat, salt, fresh water, dissolved CO2, and other tracers regulate global climate change and the distribution of natural marine resources. The time-mean ocean circulation transports fluid as a conveyor belt, but fluid parcels can also be trapped and transported discretely by migrating mesoscale eddies. By combining available satellite altimetry and Argo profiling float dat...
متن کاملAn avenue of eddies: Quantifying the biophysical properties of mesoscale eddies in the Tasman Sea
[1] The Tasman Sea is unique characterised by a strong seasonal western boundary current that breaks down into a complicated field of mesoscale eddies almost immediately after separating from the coast. Through a 16-year analysis of Tasman Sea eddies, we identify a region along the southeast Australian coast which we name ‘Eddy Avenue’ where eddies have higher sea level anomalies, faster rotati...
متن کاملGlider Path-Planning for Optimal Sampling of Mesoscale Eddies
Ocean gliders constitute an important advance in the highly demanding ocean monitoring scenario. Their efficiency, endurance and increasing robustness make these vehicles an ideal observing platform for many long term oceanographic applications [1]. However, they have proved to be also useful in the opportunistic short term characterization of dynamic structures. Among these, mesoscale eddies a...
